Frequently asked questions
What does QuikoopVPN do?
QuikoopVPN lets you keep using the websites and apps you use at home — Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Gmail and more — while you travel in mainland China.
Should I set it up before I go?
Yes. Install QuikoopVPN, create your account and connect once before you leave. The App Store and email may be hard to reach once you're in China, so getting set up in advance makes sure it works when you arrive.
Do Chinese apps go through the VPN?
No. Chinese websites and apps such as WeChat, Alipay, Baidu and Didi connect directly, so they stay fast and behave as they do for local users. Everything else goes through the VPN.
Which server am I connected to?
QuikoopVPN picks the fastest available server automatically and switches if one stops working. You don't need to choose.
How does the free trial work?
Each new user gets 48 hours or 1 GB, whichever comes first, starting the first time you connect. We suggest waiting until you arrive in China before you connect for the first time, so the trial covers your trip.
What's the difference between a pass and a subscription?
A pass (7, 15 or 30 days) is a one-time payment and does not renew. The monthly subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can buy more passes at any time; the new days are added on top.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On iPhone, iPad or Mac: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions (or App Store → Account → Subscriptions on Mac), choose QuikoopVPN and cancel. On Android or Windows: in the app, go to Account → Manage Subscription. You can keep using QuikoopVPN until the end of the period you've paid for.
I bought something but it isn't showing up.
On iPhone, iPad or Mac, go to Account → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same QuikoopVPN account you used to buy. If it still doesn't appear, email us.
How do I get a refund?
App Store purchases are refunded by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. For purchases made on Android or Windows, see section 5 of our Terms of Service and email us.
What if I see "device limit reached"?
Each account can be used on a limited number of devices. Go to Account → Devices and remove a device you no longer use, then connect again.
What if I can't connect, or websites won't load?
Turn the VPN off and on again, and try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Networks in China can be unstable at busy times, especially in the evening.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Account → Delete Account and enter your password. Your account and all your devices are removed permanently. If you subscribed through the App Store, also cancel the subscription in your Apple account settings.
